What is The Hatchere?

The Hatchere is a Penang-based product incubation platform dedicated to transforming ideas into commercially viable products. We work with entrepreneurs, startups and international companies to support the complete product journey – from opportunity discovery and product strategy to engineering development, prototyping, testing, validation, manufacturing and commercialization.

What was The Hatchere Innovation Showcase 2026?

It was our 1st anniversary celebration and showcase event, held under the theme 'Turning Ideas Into Real Products'. The event demonstrated how international collaboration, engineering excellence and product incubation are creating new opportunities for higher-value economic growth in Penang.

What products were featured at the showcase?

Three product incubation projects were featured: Nemobee – an AI-enabled parenting technology platform developed through Singapore collaboration; Open Sea Tracker – a maritime safety and tracking solution developed through U.S. collaboration; and QlinHelmet Sanitiser – a locally developed patented product showcasing Penang's product innovation capability.

What is The Hatchere's Malaysia Digital (MD) Hub recognition?

In 2026, The Hatchere was recognised as Penang's first newly approved Malaysia Digital (MD) Hub focused on Product Innovation & Commercialisation. This recognition reinforces our role in connecting international opportunities with Malaysia's engineering expertise and manufacturing ecosystem.
